This Month...

March is Women’s History Month, and celebrates the vital role of women in American history. Women’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress passed a bill which authorized and requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” In 1987 after being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress designated the month of March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.” Between 1988 and 1994, Congress passed additional resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.

Other notable celebrations in the month of March include...
-Irish American Heritage Month
-National Nutrition Month
-National Kidney Month
-National Optimism Month

What is Independent Living or Retirement Living?
Residents of independent living have the satisfaction of living comfortably, without the burden of home ownership. Independent living communities accommodate residents with fully equipped private apartments or cottages, and because residents live on their own terms, independent living communities do not assist with activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, and medication reminders. However, they may offer amenities such as housekeeping, linen services, transportation and social and recreational activities, included for an additional charge. Independent living may also be called Retirement living or Senior living.

What's new and exciting...

We wanted to feature this navigational tool that's easy to use in order to provide as many educational articles as possible.

Oklahoma is nicknamed “The Sooner State”. In 1889, people poured into central Oklahoma to stake their claims to nearly 2 million acres opened for settlement by the U.S. government. Those who entered the region before the land run's designated starting time, at noon on April 22, 1889, were dubbed “sooners.”

Oklahoma joined the Union on November 16,1907. The state motto of Oklahoma is “Labor Omnia Vincit”, meaning “Work Conquers All.”
