This Month...
Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month
Every June, the Alzheimer's Association asks the world to go purple, but this month is about more than a color. It's about the 7 million Americans currently living with Alzheimer's disease, and the millions more caring for them every single day.

Brain health touches nearly every family we serve. Whether it's a parent in memory care, a spouse navigating a new diagnosis, or an adult child trying to understand what comes next, this work is personal for so many of us.

Next week, CareAvailability CEO Amy Schmidt will travel to Washington DC, alongside 1,000+ Alzheimer's advocates, to meet with congressional representatives and senators on behalf of families affected by Alzheimer's disease. It marks her 12th year making this trip. Twelve years of sitting across from lawmakers, putting faces and stories to the policy decisions that shape how families access care, funding, and support.

If brain health has touched your family, you are not alone, and you are not without resources. We are here to help you find them.

Other Notable Holidays in June:
  • Pride Month — a month-long celebration of love, courage, and community
  • Men's Health Month — a good reminder that prevention and early conversations matter
  • Aphasia Awareness Month — affecting millions after stroke or brain injury, often misunderstood
  • Flag Day — June 14
  • World Elder Abuse Awareness Day — June 15
  • Juneteenth — June 19 — commemorating the end of slavery in the United States
  • Father's Day — June 21
  • Summer Solstice — June 21 — the longest day of the year
