Mid-Willamette Valley
Monthly Marketing Update- September 2022

Our t
eam just returned from 3 days camping together on the Oregon Coast. We started the trip on Sunday with Lyman and I renewing our 20-year wedding vows, and it was very special to have our work family with us. Over the next 2 days, we enjoyed games on the beach, family-style meals, and campfires. It was not all fun and games, we exchanged our own "vows" to each other - why we are part of this team and how we plan to support each other, and our values (Integrity, Quality, Retention, Community, and Volunteerism). Here are a few pics if you are curious.

We also set aside time to focus on our customer service, google analytics, website improvements, increased print distribution, and budgets. My favorite “work” part of the trip was when two of our community partners joined the meetings to speak about the role of Retirement Connection in the community. Some of my favorite quotes were: “your team really does walk the talk”; “as a sponsor, I know if I tell one of you- it will be taken care of and the rest of the team seamlessly makes it happen”; “as a company, you support nonprofits full mission- not just fundraising, but also advocacy, concern, and awareness”. I am so proud to be a part of this team because we are the sum of our individual parts.

The newest Retirement Connection Guide of Mid Willamette Valley is prepped for the printer and will hit the streets during the first week of October. This year we will NOT be hosting a Release Party. Instead, we have opted to provide more opportunities exclusive to our sponsors (aka: advertisers). We will host a sponsor only breakfast in October, and we are hosting a special Wine Tasting Kentucky Derby event at Four Graces Winery in 2023.

CareAvailability is growing! CareAvailability.com is a digital-only resource for families and referral sources to search for senior living, care, and hospice across the nation. We are adding numerous states each month in an effort to build a comprehensive site that does not require a log-in to search listings and provides transparent listings for visitors to contact providers directly.

Last month we added Utah to our database! This means an additional 469 providers are now listed in our database of resources. This includes more than: 230 assisted living communities, 90 skilled nursing facilities, and over 140 home care, home health, and hospice agencies.

We are excited to share that our Premium Marketing profiles are getting more hits each month than ever before. In August, the site had 9,225 searches for care and as a result of those searches, the site had 7,742 premium marketing profile visits.

Nugget Of Knowledge

"If you want to play in the game, you need to show up for practice.” — Amy Schmidt

We all love the “win” that comes from closing the sale, getting the referral, giving an awesome presentation, throwing a successful event, etc. But that success does not come unless you WORK on the relationships and planning prior to event day. The little things matter just as much, if not more. SO, attend a network meeting and actually participate; make introductions that benefit others and not just yourself; be attentive to all of your customers- not just the decision-makers.
