The past 45 days have been the most dramatic and busy of my entire life, as we learned my husband’s cancer had spread significantly. While managing my emotions surrounding our future, I am taking on some of his work tasks, because he is also my business partner. The Retirement Connection team continues to amaze me, and hopefully we have not dropped any of the plates we are currently spinning. In the past month alone, we have hosted a Kentucky Derby Sponsor Appreciation party, Tacoma Health Care Providers after hours event, Puget Sound Release Party, Southern Oregon Release Party, a Happy Hour in Roseburg, and I traveled to Washington DC to advocate for Alzheimer’s care and research. Our team continues to shift  roles to best serve you and the community. I may not be as visible at network meetings, but I assure you I am very much engaged.

Erin, Barret, Meghan, Jill, Kyle, Elizabeth, Steve, Lyman, and I (visit our "about us" page if you need a face to go with the name) are adjusting roles to make sure we remain responsive to your needs and continue to be the most comprehensive resource available in our community. As we grow and adjust, we have hired a new team member, Anthony Statham. He joins us as a content writer to increase our SEO for both RetirementConnection.com and CareAvailability.com.

The highlight of May for me was the Kentucky Derby appreciation event we hosted for our sponsors. Our team loved having in person connections with our sponsors and their guests. The Kentucky Derby race had an interesting turn, when the “substitute” horse with an 80-1 chance of winning, won the race and surprised us all.
