Monthly Marketing Update
- June 2021

I don’t know about you, but I am so excited that things are starting to open up more and providing opportunities to connect in person. I was so excited last week I hugged a person at a network meeting thinking I knew them- I did NOT, but they thanked me for such an exciting welcome! Lucky for me this person was also open for hugs!! WHEW -(yes I am vaccinated).

“How do I find out about that?” On zoom network meetings, I often mention events or updates and get asked- how do I find information about “that”. This newsletter is how I send out the most updates all at once.  Please read and refer back to this monthly newsletter to help you get re-engaged as things start opening up a bit. Don’t forget to post your professional events and networking meetings on, here is a link to help you spread the word (our sponsors can also post any events for your prospects). This is another great way to post and find events in your area.

Planning/Budget item- Case management week is still several months away (in October), but we have started the planning process. More details are below, but you may want to start thinking about your participation and your budget.

Still unsure if Retirement Connection Guide or can help your marketing? Here is a new testimonial: "The advertising dollars spent towards our spot in the guide was money well spent. This company circulates these guides in hospitals, clinics, and more. We have gotten a few move-ins already since advertising here in the guide and it's only the second month in circulation. We also had a small issue with our electronic ad and Retirement Connection worked with us to fix it right away. Great company to work with.” - Nate Colwell, Leisure Care
Thank you Nate!

Case Management Week: October 11-15th

I know it seems crazy to talk about case management week 4 months in advance, but we want to give you time to participate. Last year, our team delivered “Thank you bags” to over 1500 case management staff at 45 hospitals from Everett, WA to Medford, OR. More than 150 providers in several cities donated items to recognize the hard work of local case managers. Here is a 90 second video to “show” the impact we made and how we would like to do it again.

For providers that wish to participate, in July we will email a form with all participating hospitals and the # of case management staff at each hospital. Providers then select which hospitals to support and will provide the “same small gift” for every case manager at the hospital. So if a hospital has 40 case management staff, a provider would donate 40 items for that hospital. Some examples: the items can be as simple as a hand written thank you, may include a small $5 gift card, or just a cold can drink, or kind bar.

When thinking of your items: try to keep value less than $10, NO alcohol, NO perishable food items (fruit, etc), NO personally baked items (cookies, etc), NO glass (breakable coffee mugs). These restrictions ensure your donation arrives fresh and unbroken after being moved-assembled- moved again- stored- and delivered.

Nuggets of Knowledge

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. "
- Dr. Seuss

In high school I remember a conversation with my grandfather when I was upset that someone didn’t like me. He asked… “do you want to be liked or respected?” I asked him-can’t I be both, and he replied- “NOT ALWAYS!” I learned that being authentic requires some self-awareness, mindfulness, and self-acceptance. Not everyone will agree with you, but you sure will have a better idea of who does and why.
