Southern Oregon Monthly Marketing Update - March 2020
My heart goes out to the families that have been most affected by the Coronavirus and I hope it is better controlled soon. I work up and down I-5 and have seen many cancellations of events large and small. We are updating our website multiple times a day trying to help notify our contacts of cancellations and rescheduled meetings. If an event has been changed, we are keeping the event posted- yet
showing it as postponed or cancelled, please continue to check for updates. At this point, we have moved any networking events out of senior housing communities and arranged for other meeting spaces when appropriate. We are still planning to host the SONAR meeting with some adjustments: we have moved location, all food will be individually wrapped, we ask everyone to avoid hand shakes/hugs, and if you have experienced any cold or flu symptoms recently- please don't attend until you are completely well.
We have only a few weeks before the Southern Oregon edition wraps up for printing, and it seems that we will be having more phone and email conversations and less personal meetings than normal, as everyone makes adjustments to their changing schedules. I hope everyone is able to best care for themselves, their families, their seniors, and their customers as much as possible. Don’t forget to wash your hands, and I hope to see you soon.
Don’t forget to save the date for the Southern Oregon Release Partyin Medford on May 28th!

Douglas County Senior Resource Coalition From Shawn Ramsey-Watson: As for the meetings on Thursday, we can either suspend them for a year – if people are interested in pursuing this – or continue meeting. Nothing will change with Festival of Trees. For this month, as of now, we do not have a host, and we are hesitant to reach out to any of the senior living facilities at this time. Another venue would be preferred.

Additional Resources
There are so many resources included in Retirement Connection, that often a few may slip past you and may not be noticed. Did you know that the guide also includes:
“Today I decide to forgive you. Not because you apologized or because you acknowledged the pain
that you caused me, but because my soul deserves peace.” – Najwa Zebian
Forgiveness helps us take control of our story. The change in outlook moves us beyond feeling like a victim, and prevents negative emotions and resentment from taking over. Not forgiving someone punishes you much more than the offender.
