Monthly Marketing Update- July 2023

We still have a bit of time before the deadline for the next edition of Retirement Connection comes out in 2024, but this is a great time to reserve your ad space to ensure we are included in next year’s budget. Also, by reserving early, you can break out the payments for more flexibility. Additionally, you will have priority for hospital events before non-sponsors. We are working to schedule more hospital resource fairs. At the moment, Legacy Hospitals are still on hold for larger events. We have PeaceHealth scheduled for August 2nd, and registration is now open (details below).

This month we had about 115 people join our bi-monthly “Transitions” zoom call and we focussed on the recent updates made on CareAvailability.com. The updates resulted from provider and user suggestions. When searching for senior living and care, you can create “my list” of providers and share your list with others to collaborate. The “my list” feature also allows you to reach out to multiple providers at once to connect or ask questions about services and availability- another great tool for outreach. Please help us spread the word to all housing and home care providers to make sure they have claimed their listing and have connected an email for any inquiries (there is no charge for this).

NOW- On a personal note, many of those in the community know my husband, Lyman, and have followed his cancer journey the past 4+ years. His cancer has progressed significantly, and he is now on hospice with very limited time. I am sharing this with you because our team is very very close and this loss will be felt by our entire work family in the coming weeks. I am asking for your grace and understanding as we navigate this time, as best as possible. We will continue to do our best, but know there will be moments that each of us will be overwhelmed and falter.

Make YOUR lists and organize YOUR search!
Our latest feature allows you to build your own lists of options and interests as you search for senior living and care. When viewing a community, simply click on the heart Icon in the top left of their profile photo and select to add to a list. You can add and delete lists as your needs change. Additionally, you can share your list with a friend or family member using the share button.

Below is an example from “My Lists”...

Nugget Of Knowledge

“The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived.”
― Robert Jordan

I try to be a strong person- mentally and emotionally. As I have become more of a caregiver, I am realizing that strength is not as valuable as pliable. Even with athletes- Pliable muscles are softer, longer, and more resilient: they help insulate the body against injury and accelerate post-injury recovery, Being more flexible allows us to accept the things we cannot change, and recover more quickly.
