Mid-Willamette Valley Monthly Marketing Update - August 2020
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions with some highs and definite lows, all of which have been amplified by the global pandemic we are all dealing with.
The high notes… Tabitha, who manages our Puget Sound market welcomed her first child- a health baby boy just over 2 weeks ago. She is on maternity leave for the next several weeks and I have shared some cute pics on our Retirement Connection Facebook page. We also welcomed Michael Radut to our team last week. He had been volunteering with us for a few months but is now officially part of our team.
A few frustrations… We are working through some bugs on the new CareAvailability.com site we rolled out last month, but super excited to see so many users updating and visitors coming to the site to find care. A huge shout out to those that have helped us find issues and make adjustments. We are in the midst of hiring a new website developer to keep pace with the changes and updates.
Now the low (deep breath)… Our team has been very distracted the past 2-3 weeks as we have waited for medical test results and we have now learned that my husband’s cancer has returned. He will be starting chemo next week to begin the new fight! Lyman and I both are very lucky to have a great support network and work with the most amazing team. I am forever grateful to be surrounded by so much love, not to mention their incredible work ethic. Being a small family business, we don’t really get to take much of a break when a crisis occurs. We still need to hit the print deadline; we still need to update websites; we still need to deliver guides, etc.. The people on my team carry more than their share of the load every day.
We are in the final push for the next edition. Final ad approvals have all been sent out, and we are calling to confirm any last minute grid updates. We have made some adjustments with case manager events due to COVID-19 and we are starting plans for case management week in October. The work continues!

CareAvailability.com
Last week's analytics show:
56% increase of Site Visitors
243 New users
Average user time of 6.5 minutes
90% of new users performed a direct search to find the site
We are pleased to see increased site visits and new users progressing quickly, while spending substantial time searching or updating availability.
Testimonial: My staff and I love the site and use it daily for our patients. The site is easy to update and is free to providers to be listed and to update. I'd like to ask that all providers utilize CareAvailability.com to update your availability. Samaritan Hospitals utilize this tool more than ever during this time. We direct our patients and families to view this site and expect accuracy. This cannot be used properly when it’s not being updated. I must press the issue that your company may be losing referrals if it is not
up to date, as we are directing our team to reach out to those showing availability updated within the last 24 hours.

Additional Resources
There are so many resources included in Retirement Connection, that often a few may slip past you and may not be noticed. Did you know that the guide also includes:
“The two things in life you are in total control over are your attitude and your
effort.” -Billy Cox
Lately, I have felt that I do not have as much “control” as I want or need. The best I can do right now is to stay focused on what I am able to manage and accomplish. I don't need to do more, I just need to remove the clutter and distractions; stay focused on the most important goals; then put all my effort into achieving them. I can at least control two things- my attitude and effort!
